I CURSE the G*DDAMN Person who has shot a helpless dog minding its own business in the confines of its home. What in the name of Islam *yes, unfortunately* are they trying to do?!:!?!?!! Kill off every single dog in the entire of Malaysia?!?! FOOLS!!! I tell you, it has already started in Shah Alam and JB and there's no knowing to where this insanity will spread to.
I knew about this just today when my mum was talking about such a ban on dogs in Shah Alam. Apparently this madness started around April/May 2005 - during my finals week at Davis. Hence i was not aware of this at all!

MBSA Kenakan Syarat Lebih Ketat, Larang Pelihara Anjing Rottweiler

WHAT the heck?! And invite those DOG KILLERS into our houses and let them kill our dogs??! I've heard of several cases where these MAD crazy people just barge into the house compounds and shoot those poor (bless their souls) dogs.
NO WONDER i felt SO at home and happy in the US, where dog owners can take their dogs to the park and even go running with them. Dogs have such a happy home in US - where there are people who CARE and LOVE them. Just tune in to Animal Planet and you'll see the wonderful souls who rescue mistreated dogs. And not just dogs, but other animals as well. If people overseas can treat both dogs and cats with equality, why can't Malaysia. WHY SO #%()#$@# PREJUDICE AGAINST DOGS when you can't deny cats also cause problems?!?!
Here are a few feedbacks from fellow Malaysians. Oh Mr. Alfean Abu Bakar - THANK YOU AND oh, You ARE sensible!!
Dogs singled out by local council Alfean Abu Bakar, Petaling Jaya
I am a bumiputera and I have a bone to pick with our local council by-laws. It concerns my dog. Yes, I own a dog and - like any conscientious dog owner - I am not too happy that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) requires pet owners to obtain neighbours' written consent before issuing dog licences. I understand that the MPSJ is merely following what the Johor Bahru City Council had already done a while back.
I try to understand the inherent rationale for this: that dogs are deemed by some Muslims as 'haram' animals, and thus branded, dirty to an extreme degree. Muslims are to stay clear of them in order to retain and preserve their spiritual cleanliness. Yet I have come to the view that dogs are not dirty animals.
Personally, I think it is yet another irrevocable step towards entrenching Malay-Muslim prejudices into our daily lives. Dogs - and the apparently second-class citizens who love them, I feel - are really being victimised in this country.
Don't believe me? Go take a walk in any park in PJ and you'll eventually come across the MPPJ by-laws posted on a signboard. Read it carefully and you'll discover that you can go to jail a year for walking your dog in the park!
Furthermore, in Putrajaya, that pinnacle of Malay civilisation, horses can trot through its parks but no other animals are allowed. Presumably, you can also walk your little pony in the many other public parks, like those in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, where 'No dogs [are] allowed'.
Are dogs are such pariah animals that they should sully the pristine perfection of our parks? Don't horses poop on park pathways too? Are pet rabbits/hamsters/cats any better? Chew on this: My next door neighbours - an old Chinese couple - have seven cats, three of which are kittens. One of their adult cats is now also pregnant. When she gives birth, there could be 10 cats or more in their house.
Why is my written permission not required for them to obtain a dozen cat licences and tags? Hey, MPSJ and MPPJ, want to collect more funds? Issue licences to cat owners too! At the rate that cats breed, the council is sitting on a potential goldmine. But I digress.
My neighbours' animals are such a nuisance to the neighbourhood. They take a dump in my and other people's gardens (do I have to remind anyone how badly cat shit smells?) and rummage through the garbage bins. And I'm not the only one feeling frustrated, I've even seen one neighbour from down the road fling her slipper from off her foot at them out of sheer exasperation. (STUPID CATS!)
My own father, bless him, loves to tend his garden but his sensitive skin gets the rashes after each weekend of gardening due to the faeces of cats that strayed from the same next door neighbour's.
Yet, no legislation exists to control animals like these. And no such legislation will probably be considered. The question I want to know is why?
Why are dogs singled out? Are they not the first wild animals to be domesticated by humans? Are they not man's 'best friend'? Aren't specially trained trekking and sniffing dogs not used by the police in some of its public-safety programmes? Are dogs so inherently dangerous that we need protection from them?

Maybe that's why there are still so much unsolved cases of drug peddling in Malaysia. Malaysian Police have no sense to use these SMART DOGS who are doomed *haram* in Islam. Bah!
Rottweiler ban a savage
May 5, 05 1:33pm
(From an unknown author at http://www.malaysiakini.com/letters/35871)
I cannot for the world of me comprehend how the Shah Alam Municipal Council (MPSA) could have the heart to come up with such an uncompromisingly harsh and severe ruling as to ban all Rottweiler breeds from the state starting from next year.
The authorities have also expressed that they would refuse granting dog licences to dog owners who are not able to procure written permissions from their neighbours from all sides to keep a dog in their homes. Furthermore, only those with bungalows and end lots with land are allowed to keep dogs whereas those in between who cannot afford space will be deprived of ever owning dogs.
The move by MPSA to try and arrest the problem of dog attacks appears to be just as savage as the former. Imagine the heartbreak and misery the council will be causing to thousands of its residents who include women, children and the elderly who would have to arbitrarily give up their canines because of some neighbours' personal fear and ignorance about dogs, will not give them permission to have such pets around. The Rottweiler who happens to act as therapy and service dog to the disabled and the infirm will now have to be confiscated because it has suddenly been deemed as a ‘dangerous’ and ‘vicious’ dog.
Think of all the homes and neighbourhoods in Shah Alam that previously used to deter burglars and petty thieves because of the presence of the Rottweiler. They will now probably see an increase in such crimes and other ills with the disappearance of the Rotties. I would like to call on the MPSA to rescind their plan to ban the Rottweiler breed with immediate effect and instead declare an all-out war on owners who fail to raise up their dogs properly, especially the larger breeds.
On a lighter note (almost forgot about this due to my outrage),
