Dad & Mom know..
Oh yes..now they know..
Pakcik: Ah, so how's the dog?
Dad: What dog?
Sis: "Oh no" (shakes head at pakcik)
Yep, so that's how a friendly conversation between pakcik led to my dad finding out about my dog. Turns out mom found out not too soon after that.
I know, it was pretty crazy of me, bringing Sara to California. At least I had friends who didn't object to my doing that. That crazy Xing Ling, bringing a dog from Ipoh all the way to States!
Anyway..
It's been a wonderful week. Met up with Ran for Hebrew Conversation Lunch at Cafe Roma. I ended up teaching a Jewish girl to speak some Hebrew instead! HA. Good practice.
Yesterday, went for the Tuesday Lunch at Hillel. Crowd was good. Would have been better if not for the fact i was the only asian among the jews. Er, yea.
But i guess that's how whites feel in chinese class?
Hehe.
Oh by the ways, I have my very own seat and table at the lab now. And it's the CLOSEST to Ricardo's! Oh Joy! He gave me an extra big smile today. I was like, "er...what do you want?"
"Nothing", he says," I'm just happy to see you"
*yea right*

A mouse tried to climb up my leg today. In my selamba-ness, it got away. I think the little guy was also as selamba as i was at that moment.
Yours truly "fell" for some Malay dude she has never met before. It's funny, how one gets drawn to another just by some sense of connection. But not to be taken seriously, because she constantly falls for select people - too many to date!
Is it just me or do other people's lives shine and mine pales in comparison? Inferiority complex kicking in, as it always does at this time of the year.

what me been doing lately?
getting sick - only 2 days and I'm up and kicking!
powerwalking - this is such a USEFUL skill. Especially when you have 5 minutes to dash from the MU (waaaayy on the other side) to the Extension Center (WAAAAAAAYYY on the other side of campus)
sara'ing - sara got promoted! wooho! she sleeps on the carpet beside me every night now.
*she keeps our little friend the mouse away from my room*
Isn't that cute? She barked and frightened it away this morning. Yay i get to hear sara's cute little barksies!
eating - ..on the go! plain bread/plain rice/free cookies.. anything i can get my hands on in between classes/work/internship. Everyone knows me now as the 'gal with the growling tumsies'.
blogspotting - here at my workplace because no one is here to look over my shoulder making sure i am not fooling around.

A promise to self broken
Fall Quarter 2005
Internship (9 hours), Classes (16 units), Genetics lab (6 hours), Work (10 hours) PER WEEK

Vowed to self not to be as busy next Winter.
Will try to take less units and spend more time with Sara. And run 4 miles twice a week.
Winter Quarter 2006
7th day of classes

AND!
Got promoted from the mouse colony to the laboratory. Tasks will include genotyping with PCR, gel electrophoresis, microarrays, and sequencing. GAH!
